Everything, EverythingThis movie was adorable! I loved the cinematography, music, actors, and just everything. I read the book back in High School but I'll have to go re-read it to compare. I loved how awkward the characters were with each other, and I loved their love. And the way they did the astronaut in the architect projects was soooooo good.
If you love cheesy love stories, then you will really like this one. I rate this movie 4.5/5 stars |
Jane The VirginI LOVE THIS SHOW
There are 2 seasons on Netflix right now, and I think the 3rd is on tv right now. It's about a girl (Jane) and she's strongly Catholic (the Virgin) but she was accidentally inseminated by her OBGYN! The tv show is an American-version of a Telanovela! I always laugh until I cry while watching this show. I 100% recommend it! I rate this TV show a 4/5 stars I would have given it 5/5 but season 2 wasn't as good as the 1st one. |
The Jungle Book
Alright. This movie was SO good. It looked so realistic and the story was amazing. We've all seen the old cartoon Jungle Book, but this one had a somewhat different story. I believe it followed the original book story line... and I liked it way better than Disney's first one. The cast was amazing, and the little kid did amazing considering everything in the movie was fake besides him haha
I 100% recommend seeing this movie! I rate this movie a 4.5/5 stars |
Pride & Prejudice & Zombies
This one was.... weird. I didn't read the book that this movie was adapted from and I've never read the original Pride & Prejudice. I had nothing to go off of, but my roommate knows a lot about it and she said the plot line was exactly the same with zombies added in. That makes sense. I liked the movie, there were a few parts that were weird and cheesy, overall it was good! My aunt said the P&P&Z book was full of humor and that the movie wasn't, but I noticed lots of humor and loved it! It was a little more gory than necessary though.
I rate this movie a 3.5/5 |
Finding Dory
You guys. This was such a cute movie. I wasn't sure what to expect because Finding Nemo was soooo good, and second movies usually aren't great... but I was pleasantly surprised. I saw this a week after it came out so I didn't hear too much about it beforehand which was amazing! The characters in this movie were so funny and lovable. I was smiling and laughing the whole time! I 100% recommend this one!
I rate this movie a 4.5/5 PS. I did hear that there was a lesbian couple in this movie and I also heard that people were totally disgusted by it... I wouldn't have known that they were a lesbian couple had it not been for twitter. Those two woman characters were literally in the movie for 30 seconds top. |
ZootopiaThis movie was better than I thought it would be! So many people were saying it was the most amazing thing they'd seen... it was good but people hyped it up just a little too much, and I hate when people do that because I feel like I can't appreciate it as much for some reason.
I really enjoyed the characters and the story! It wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be, which was a good thing. There were lots of plot twists and emotions flying every which way. When an animated movie can make me tear up that's how I know the creators did a good job. I rate this movie 4/5 stars! |
"The Mermaids Mirror" by L.K. Madigan
It took me forever to start this book because I've been so busy but it was amazing! I love anything that has to do with swimming, surfing, the ocean... all of it. This book was you know, super cheesy, but that's how I like it!
The writing style was super good, and I liked most of the characters. It was interesting all the mermaid things Madigan made up. I rate this book a 4/5 |
Unexpected
I suprisingly really liked this movie. It's about a high school teacher who gets pregnant and then she finds out one of her students is pregnant and they kind of figure out a little piece of life together.
And... I don't know, it's just a good story. There is some R rated cursing I rate this movie a 3.5/5 |
Iris
I just watched the documentary on Netflix of Iris Apfel and I was in such awe the whole time. She did so many things with her life; she loved and still loves everything about it. She's a fashion icon, interior designer, and she's not too bad in the business world either. So many opportunities kept coming up throughout her life and what else was there to do besides grab hold of them?
She is 94 years old right now, still a huge fashion icon, and is still kick ass in everything that she does. I'm so inspired by her. I rate this documentary a 4/5 The camera work wasn't fantastic I recommend looking her up and watching her documentary. |
The Good Dinosaur
I heard a lot of mixed reviews about this movie and I'm about to give you a very mixed review as well.
The movie itself was beautifully created. The images just blew me away. The story was super weird though. It just kept going and nothing was happening! I loved some parts but overall I was just thinking What the heck is going on Someone on instagram said she had to bring her child out because a couple of the characters "get high" in the movie. Lady, calm down. They weren't intetionally getting high, and it lasted for about 30 seconds of the movie. I believe this movie is very kid-friendly. I rate this movie a 3/5 |
Jurassic World
I have conflicted feelings about this movie. I think everything was aesthetically pleasing, but the story line kind of bugged. There was also a bit more humor than I had expected. The old Jurassic Parks were more drama and thriller based I think. The actors were great but COME ON Bryce Dallas Howard, high heels... the whole movie?
I rate this movie a 4/5 I also thought some scenes just tried too hard to be funny. I think it was cool that they added in some things from the old park movies though. |
"The Fault In Our Stars" by John Green
I know I sound like a cliche teenage girl, but I really love this book. It's one of those books I can re-read whenever I have time. I never get sick of it. John Greens writing is so much fun to get wrapped up in. I know this book is about cancer, but the love in it is incredible. Every single word in this novel is perfectly placed. I laugh, cry, cheer, and curse while reading this amazing book.
I rate this book a 5/5 |
"Paper Valentine" by Brenna Yovanoff
This book was very interesting. I loved the cover art and that's the main reason I picked it up.
The story was kind of all over the place for me. I liked it, but didn't love it. It's about a girl who can see her dead best friend, and she solves a murder case using the help of the dead girls from the murder cases. It sounds cool, right? I guess the writing style wasn't my favorite. The ending was pretty abrupt too. I guessed who the murders were long before the book told me. I rate this book a 3/5 |
"Fangirl" by Rainbow Rowell
I didn't really know what this book would be about when I got it but I saw a lot of people online saying they really loved it. I was at the library ready to check out 4 books and then I saw Fangirl sitting on the shelf a few feet over. I couldn't resist!
The story was surprisingly relatable. I love books just as much as the main character (I don't write fanfiction but I am working on a couple novels), and the way she looks at life is almost the same as me. I rate this book a 4.5/5 The writing style was amazing and the story made me laugh a lot! There were also some pretty serious scenes about family, relationships, and college. I adored all of it. There is some R rated language in this book |
Insurgent
I actually really liked this movie! I loved all the action, and I loved how the story was playing out. I had no idea that it wasn't like the book though (I've only read Divergent). If I had read the book I probably would have hated the movie.
I rate this movie a 4/5 I gave it a 4 because of the main guy's name... Just kidding! I gave this movie a 4 because I loved it but then found out it was nothing like the book. I always wonder how authors feel about directors or whoever totally ruining their stories. If I had written an awesome story and someone changed everything about it, I would be so angry. I wouldn't care about the money, I'd just want my story to stay the same. So make sure you watch the first movie before watching this one or you might get confused. And while you're at it read all of the books so you can compare. |
"Alienated" by Melissa Landers
Okay, wow. I really loved this book. I'm not sure I totally loved the ending but the rest of the book was so good. I loved the characters. I wanted to be in the book! I loved the equal balance between romance, teenage life, and sci-fi. I'm always amazed by how creative authors can get when it comes to making up different worlds.
I rate this book a 5/5 I rarely rate books a full 5/5 and even though I do think 344 pages was way too short for this particular story, I loved the writing. I laughed, gasped and even felt my cheeks burning a little red during this book. I found this book on goodreads awhile ago and then found it at my library. I definitely thought I wouldn't want to finish it, because I'm not the biggest sci-fi fan, but I was happily surprised. |
"The statistical probability of love at first sight" by Jennifer E. smith
Last night while looking at my stack of library books, I decided to finally start reading one. I picked up The Statistical Probobility od Love at First Sight, and then finished it 3 hours later. I absolutely adored it. Romance at it's finest. This book is the kind of book that gives everyone false hope for reality though because it was far too perfect.
This is one of my favorite stories by far. I couldn't put it down! I laughed a lot and almost cried a little bit too. I rate this book a 4.5/5 I left off the .5 because it was too short for my liking and I wanted to know more. I totally recommend this book! |
Psych
I think every single person should watch this whole tv show. It is SO good. I laugh during every episode. If you love comedy, and you're still interested in a crime tv show, then this is the one for you. Every sentence is just so perfect, I have no idea how anyone can think of such funny and witty things to say. There are 8 seasons of pure joy.
It's about a "psychic" that kinda joins a police force and solves crimes using his "powers". I rate this tv show a 5/5 all the way I believe it's on Netflix right now, but it could be gone any day.... so go get started! |
"Black Ice" by Becca Fitzpatrick
I don't think this book is for everyone. It has romance in it but it's also pretty dark in some parts. I really loved how Fitzpatrick added amazing plot twists and made the main characters so easy to fall in love with.
I rate this book 4.5/5 I didn't give it a full 5 because I didn't want it to end when it did. This book is definitely on my favorite shelf. |
"The Geography of You and Me" by Jennifer E. Smith
I had high hopes for this book. I actually really liked the story but I didn't feel connected to the characters. It was also too short for my liking, it all happened too fast. I've heard great things about this author and although her story was really sweet I'm not a huge fan of her writing. If you're interested in romance then this is the book for you. A lot of people I've talked to about this book have loved it, so I'm sure it's a crowd pleaser.
I rate this book 3/5 |
Lost
I loved this tv show until the last season. Don't worry I won't give too much away for those of you who haven't seen it. The ending made the whole thing a giant waste of time, but I have friends who re-watch the whole million seasons all the time. I think I'm just a sucker for real happy endings and maybe that's why it wasn't my favorite. Overall the story was really interesting and I loved the plot twists, but I wasted so much of my time/life after I finished it.
I rate this tv show a 2/5 Yeah that's how much I didn't like it. |
